Horimiya Episode 9 aired this Saturday. It started with Hori messing with Miyamura’s hair which attracted the attention of girls in the classroom. It instantly put Hori in a bad mood cause previously, girls didn’t even notice Miyamura’s pressence.
On their way home our pair meets two people that used to make fun of Miyamura back in middle school. Miyamura does not fight back as they throw jokes at him, but here is where Hori comes in. Having someone get mad on his behalf makes Miyamura extremely happy. After Hori beats up those two guys they instantly become scared of her and even more scared of Miyamura after they see him slapping his girlfriend. One thing doesn’t change though, as Hori still wants Miyamura to treat her roughly. He decides to talk about that with Hori’s father, but that doesn’t help at all.
Second half of the episode revolvs around Tanihara Makio trying to make up with Miyamura. Tanihara was the one who made fun of him back in middle school and after all this time he wants to fix that. He tries talking to Miyamura and he notices that Miyamura doesn’t care about what happened back in middle school. Thanks to that Hori is also happy that Miyamura managed to change so much in such a short period of time.

After accidentally discovering each other’s secrets the pair becomes fast friends, and together, they begin to navigate their new relationship together amongst unknowing peers and love rivals alike.
