Japanese idol group ≠ME will be performing The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious anime’s opening song, as announced on the official website. The title of the song is yet to be announced.
≠ME is produced by former AKB48 and HKT48 member Rino Sashihara. They are a sister group of the idol group =Love, that is also produced by Sashira as well and composed of voice actors from the Yoyogi Animation Academy.
Speaking about this, ≠ME current frontgirl Moeko Kanizawa said that they hope that their performance helps other people learn more about their group.
“We would be happy if you love ≠ME along with our songs. Some of the members of ≠ME also love anime, so we are happy that our songs will be played every week, and we will do our best to make this work more colorful.”

The anime adaptation for The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious was announced this May, with animation studios SILVER LINK and BLADE animating the series. Mirai Minato is directing while also writing the scripts. Machi Yoshino is designing the characters, while Koji Fujimoto and Sasaki Osamu will work on the music composition. Saori Hayami (as Yuri) and Rie Takahashi (as Lilith) are currently the only two cast members.
Based on a webcomic by Wakame Konbu in 2019, it started serializing in Square Enix’s Monthly Gangan Joker magazine in January 2020. An English version has been serialized by Yen Press, which describes the plot as:
There’s something really strange about the maid I just hired! No normal person could be so beautiful, or cook such amazingly delicious food, or know exactly what I want before I even ask. She must be using magic—right, a spell is the only thing that can explain why my chest feels so tight whenever I look at her. I swear, I’m going to get to the bottom of what makes this maid so…mysterious!
