We have officially entered July of 2022 and it means new encounters of anime nature are waiting for you this summer. We took a look at the new titles of the season and found a few that were created by some very famous and familiar names. Few of them are based on manga or light novels, but some are also original works created by people who have worked on famous titles in the past.

Call of the Night
Dagashi Kashi author Kotoyama has another boy-meets-girl story, titled Call of the Night. The series is coming to keep you company during the hot summer nights. It was voted as the most anticipated non-sequel anime in Anime Corner’s Most Anticipated Summer 2022 Anime poll.
The story follows a schoolboy Ko Yamori, who goes outside one night and meets a woman Nazuna Nanakusa, whom he later finds out is a vampire. The manga has been running in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine since August 2019 and will release Volume 12 in July 2022. The manga’s title is named after Creepy Nuts’ song of the same name, Yofukashi no Uta in Japanese.

The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious
The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated author Wakame Konbu’s The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious is coming to defeat you in the summer of 2022 with an anime adaptation.
The young master Yuri and his new “mysterious” maid Lilith’s romantic comedy story has been serialized in Square Enix’s magazine Monthly Gangan Joker since January 2020. The manga released its 5th volume in February 2022.

Yen Press, the official English licenser, describes the plot of Volume 1 as:
There’s something really strange about the maid I just hired! No normal person could be so beautiful, or cook such amazingly delicious food, or know exactly what I want before I even ask. She must be using magic—right, a spell is the only thing that can explain why my chest feels so tight whenever I look at her. I swear, I’m going to get to the bottom of what makes this maid so…mysterious!
Other than the abovementioned manga-inspired anime, this season has an original anime for which Fumiaki Maruto, the creator of Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend, wrote the script: Engage Kiss. In addition to Maruto, Tsunako (Date a Live illustrator) is doing character designs for the work. A-1 Pictures (the studio that also worked on Saekano anime) is animating the series under Tomoya Tanaka’s direction. The anime will begin airing on July 2.
The official website describes the plot as:
Baylon City, a mega-floating city created by the discovery of new energy resources. A young man named Shu runs a small company there. He is living a hard life because of his daily spending sprees that he has trouble keeping under control. Worried about Shu, a girl named Kisara visits him at his office and home. She attends a high school in Baylon City and takes care of everything from office work to household chores. Another girl, Ayano, a senior employee of Shu’s former company and his ex-lover, also cares for him.
A slapstick love comedy involving three people with slightly unusual relationships on a man-made island in the Pacific Ocean is about to begin! Especially once a nun, who is a part of the world’s largest exorcist organization, infiltrates the city!
