Jujutsu Kaisen manga surpassed 65 million copies in circulation, with the number including both physical and digital copies. The 19th volume of Gege Akutami’s manga is set to release on April 4 in Japan. The cover for the new volume has been revealed:
The Jujutsu Kaisen manga is currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The manga launched on March 5, 2018, and currently has 179 chapters. Viz Media is publishing the manga in English and 14 volumes are currently out, with the 15th releasing on April 5 and the 16th on June 21 of this year.
The manga, which is one of the best-selling of all time, received an anime adaptation by studio MAPPA in 2018. The first season had 24 episodes and ran from October 2021 to March 2022. Season 2 was announced in February of this year, but no additional information has been revealed since. Jujutsu Kaisen also has a prequel manga titled Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which also got an anime adaptation in form of a movie in December of last year. The movie was a hit both in Japan and in North America, where it earned over $17 million during the opening weekend.
To commemorate the season 2 announcement and the release of the 18th volume Jump Comics Channel uploaded a special JJK-themed video with lo-fi music and scenes from the manga in December:
