It’s officially confirmed that Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie opening weekend revenue is the biggest revenue in Japan’s history! Moreover, the movie’s estimate revenue exceeds ¥3,500,000,000 (~$33 million). It means that the previous record is no more. Although the second entry in the Matrix franchise, which held first place for 17 years, earned ¥2,222,854,550 (~$18,8 million) in its opening week, it still wasn’t enough!
With such a successful opening weekend, the second season is a given. Unfortunately, we are still waiting for the official announcement. After all, Kimetsu no Yaiba movie revenue in Japanese cinemas was even higher than premiers of movies like Harry Potter and Star Wars.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train is a movie that’s a direct sequel to the first season of the Kimetsu no Yaiba series. It tells the story of the main characters investigating a mysterious series of disappearances occurring inside a train. They will be accompanying the Flame Hashira. On the train itself, they will have to face one of the Twelve Kizuki, Enmu.
