Fans of both Lord Of The Rings and anime will be excited to hear that there will be a new film in the works which combines both of them. Kenji Kamiyama will helm the project, the same person responsible for directing Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex.
The Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim will focus on Helm Hammerhand, King Of Rohan. Hammerhand’s story details the bloody events that eventually tell the story of Helm’s Deep. Additionally, New Line Cinema will produce this anime film responsible for the original Lord Of The Rings trilogy.
What’s more, Blade Runner: Black Lotus’s Joseph Chou will be the film’s producer. Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews from The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will be the leading writers of the film. Additionally, original trilogy screenwriter Philippa Boyens will act as the principal consultant for the film project.
As such, Lord Of The Rings fans should expect an animated film that hopefully captures the spirit of what made the original trilogy so memorable to audiences around the world.
Kenji Kamiyama is a famous director in the industry known for Ghost In The Shell and Eden Of The East. What’s more, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex is as loved as the original film due to capturing its spirit.
Additionally, Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex won the excellence prize in the 2002 Japan Media Arts Festival. Kamiyama also worked as a background artist for films such as Akira and Kiki’s Delivery Service. Kamiyama’s experience in the anime industry would allow him to tackle a franchise as legendary as The Lord Of The Rings franchise.
