Maomao and Jinshi Run a Train in Uniform for New The Apothecary Diaries Visual

The popular The Apothecary Diaries and Central Japan Railway Company (JR Central) have collaborated on a new Maomao and Jinshi visual, and series of special events in Japan, as announced via PR Times. Check out the visual below:

The collaboration project, titled “Kusuriya, Nara no Tabi” (Apothecary, A Journey through Nara) will feature numerous special experiences, including a mystery-solving project, a guidebook, an exhibition at Yakushiji Temple, and The Apothecary Diaries-themed prize goods when taking the Tokaido Shinkansen. Additionally, the official JR Central X (formerly Twitter) account is running a follow-and-repost competition. Five lucky winners will receive an autograph from Maomao’s voice actor, Aoi Yuuki.

The JR Central collaboration follows The Apothecary Diaries‘ awareness campaign with Health, Labor and Welfare – the PR wing of the Japanese government’s Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare. The collaboration saw Maomao headline the magazine’s cover, posters distributed across medical institutions and public healthcare services, and featured an interview with Aoi Yuuki. The magazine cover can be viewed below:

As anime collaborations remain a popular way to gain traction, those in Japanese train stations may also come across Attack on Titan‘s poster collab with the Personal Information Protection Commission. Six posters will be released, raising attention about avoiding fraud and handing over private details. Readers can check them out below:

OLM and Toho Animation Studio animate The Apothecary Diaries, with direction and screenplay by Norihiro Naganuma. The anime series adapts Natsu Hyuga’s original light novel published by Shufutonotomo and self-published on Shosetsuka ni Narou. Crunchyroll streams the anime series, describing the plot:
Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries!
