The Apothecary Diaries Highlights Sparkly Jinshi and Loyal Gaoshun in Character Trailers

As the anime nears its finale, The Apothecary Diaries has released special web character trailers that describe the story of the anime so far. The first trailer featured the apothecary Maomao, while the second trailer featured the eunuch Jinshi. A third video was released this week and it features the eunuch’s attendant, Gaoshun. TOHO Animation and OML are currently animating The Apothecary Diaries series, which is set to have a total of 24 episodes.

Maomao’s trailer was released on February 15, the week before the special Cat Day video celebration. The trailer recounts her activities from when she began working at the rear palace:

Jinshi’s trailer was released on February 29. It describes what his determination could be behind his sparkling smile. Watch Jinshi in the second The Apothecary Diaries character trailer:

Lastly, The Apothecary Diaries character trailer of Jinshi’s attendant, Gaoshun was posted on March 8. The attendant is sometimes in charge of watching over his troublesome master, sometimes reprimanding him, and sometimes the attendant gets pushed around. Watch Gaoshun’s charming trailer below:

The Apothecary Diaries is a Japanese light novel series written by Natsu Hyuga and illustrated by Toko Shino. Shunfunotomo currently publishes the series, while J-Novel Club publishes the English version. The series also has two manga adaptations: the manga series of the same name by Itsuki Nanao, illustrated by Nekokurage; and Kusuriya no Hitorigoto: Mao Mao no Kokyu Nazotoki Techo (The Apothecary Diaries: The Palace Cloister Mystery-Solving Notebook of Mao Mao) by Minoji Kurata. Square Enix’s Monthly Big Gangan and Shogakukan’s Monthly Sunday Gene-X publishes them in print, respectively.

The ongoing series is available to watch on Netflix and Crunchyroll in select regions. Crunchyroll describes the plot:
Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries!
