At the end of the special MAPPA 10-Year Anniversary event, they announced their very first original anime film, with Mari Okada as the director! The title is “Arisu no Teresi no Maboroshi Koujou” (Alice and Therese’s Illusion Factory), though there’s no release date yet. A key visual is now available though:

Mari Okada said about the movie: “[It] is a story about boys and girls struggling in an ambiguous world fighting their destiny with “love” as a weapon.” She said it’s a team she can trust, and she looks forward to a movie that can only be done with them. She also said it’s a long way off, but that she’d like to deliver it to everyone soon.
Although it’s the first original anime film by MAPPA, they have done several adaptations in the format before. They are Garo: Divine Flame and In This Corner of the World. They also have 2 upcoming ones, Yuri!!! on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence and Jujutsu Kaisen 0 the Movie.
