The Summer 2021 season is officially behind us, and Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S took the Anime of the Season title for our fans. This was Kyoto Animation’s first TV anime since the 2019 arson, and it was a sequel to the first season from 2017. It was also our fans’ most anticipated anime before the season, and it started off Week 1 in 2nd place. After that, it went to 1st, and remained consistent throughout the season as a top 10 show.

KyoAni delivered an incredible season, and Kobayashi and Tohru were a joy to watch again. The most notable change of rank happened with the Elma vs Tohru episode, when Kobayashi ranked 1st after previously being at #7. It was also the highest % of votes it had since the very first week, when it had 8,31%.
The results are based on the 12 weeks of Summer 2021, together with the final “Anime of the Season” poll. 32, 716 people participated, and there were over 250,000+ total votes registered (fans could vote every week, plus for more than 1 show). This is the result of the overall rating, so e.g. Tensura, which got a late boost with Walpurgis and ranked 1st twice, still couldn’t rank 1st overall due to the lower ranking in previous weeks.
