The Gundam franchise’s upcoming Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans – Urdr Hunt movie revealed a teaser visual earlier today. The movie will adapt the Urdr Hunt mobile game.
The Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans – Urdr Hunt anime film was announced in November 2023 as a spin-off of the 9-part short original anime distributed alongside the Japanese Tekketsu no Orphans G game. A previously released special trailer for the animated movie adaptation can be viewed below.
The setting for this anime spin-off takes place in the year P.D. 323 when an armed conflict involving mobile suits erupted in the Arbrau central parliament due to Gjallarhorn’s political intervention. The resolution of this incident was achieved by Tekkadan, a group of youths originating from Mars. News of Tekkadan’s accomplishments has reached the attention of Wistario Afam, a young individual who was born and raised in the Radonitsa Colony near Venus. In his quest to alter the prevailing conditions of his homeland, Wistario encounters a girl purporting to be the guide to the Urdr-Hunt.
Urðr-Hunt is a spin-off game to the Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans (Gundam IBO) series which first aired on TV in October 2015, spanning 50 episodes across two seasons until its final air date in April 2017. Urðr-Hunt game, which ended its service earlier today, takes place between the two seasons of the anime.
Crunchyroll streams Mobile Suit GUNDAM Iron Blooded Orphans and describes the plot as:
The Earth Sphere had lost its previous governing structure, and a new world was created under new systems of government. While a temporary peace had arrived, the seeds of a new conflict were being sown in the Mars Sphere, far away from Earth.
