Mushoku Tensei started Episode 4 with the happy news that Rudy was getting a new sibling – Zenith was pregnant! However, seconds later we learned that Lilia the maid was also pregnant, and the atmosphere dropped. We knew that Paul was a womanizer prior to his marriage, but he was supposed to be done with that phase. Although we know that it was Lilia who seduced him, Rudy dropped all the blame onto his father so that the maid could still live with them and raise her baby.
After that heavy scene, we got to see the babies and everyone seemed to be used to the new situation. Lilia started talking to Rudeus and we saw that he was even creepier in her eyes than he is in ours. I mean, just look at this baby.
Then Rudy seriously thought about his stagnating progress and what he should do. Although magic school was an option, Sylph cried when she realized he might go away. So he decided he wouldn’t and that he’d rather live with her in the village. But then best girl Roxy’s letter arrived, and we got to see her again. She reminded Rudy of Ranoa Magic University and the high expectations she has for him. After that, he asked his dad to pay the tuition for both him and Sylph, which Paul rejected and it ended up with Rudy needing to get a job to pay for Sylph until Paul thinks he’s strong enough to go.
Finally, the job Paul got Rudy seems pretty shady. I mean he had to knock him out to get him to go, so I wonder what Ghislaine actually does. She’s the first beast person we’ve seen. I can imagine Rudy getting some hits from her as well for some reason.
Episode 4 of Mushoku Tensei is already out on Funimation. The title of the next episode is “A Young Lady and Violence” and we will see what Rudy’s job with Ghislaine really is. If you enjoyed the episode, you can vote for it as the best anime of this week on our weekly poll!
