My Dress-Up Darling Episode 10 - A Healthy Summer Date

My Dress-Up Darling episode 10 melts my heart with all these “wuvwy” moments. It really manages to deliver a lot more playful teasing than usual and at the same time, it’s super wholesome! This is a particularly well-packed episode of about four separate events — from the technical side of cosplay to a refreshing casual summer date real quick!

While last week covered a lot of detailed cosplay stuff, this week we get a more easy and happy vibe. The photoshoot is a bundle of joy to watch, and honestly, it’s a cute presentation of how fun a group cosplay project is. Meeting fellow people, learning from them, and just enjoying the craft altogether.

For example, Juju’s serious character was able to laugh and smile along with them. I can’t help but admit that Juju’s overall attitude towards herself, her sister, and her passion has grown on me. She’s even more endearing when she’s so appreciative of her experience with Gojo, including how he took care of Sajuna. It’s sort of a mix of respect and admiration. (Or…maybe something more?) Everyone was happy in the end so it was really a satisfying conclusion.

“You’ve treated what I hold dear with kindness and care, all this time. You really are… wonderful.”

The second half of My Dress-Up Darling episode 10 jumps right into Marin and Gojo’s next cosplay. It’s noticeable that the two are so comfortable that hanging out at each other’s houses is almost normal. It was also interesting to see Marin in full body make-up, a fun historic nod to her gyaru fashion style. (To be specific, the tan trends were popular around the mid-90s in Japan.)

In addition, Marin takes Gojo out to Shibuya for clothing shopping too. Even though Gojo looks and feels awkward, Marin on the other hand is super in wuv with all his looks. I honestly thought it was a shame that they didn’t get those matching shirts.

Although My Dress-Up Darling episode 10 covered numerous separate happenings, the most notable one is in the last part when Gojo expressed his inability to continue Marin’s revealing cosplay. It’s another open and short conversation without any drama. And well, there’s that extra bonus with Marin’s teasing too, of course.

This is the first time a cosplay is cut short and Marin is quick to understand and make way for Gojo’s feelings. That alone was the most moving and most heartfelt moment of the episode. They’ve definitely come a long way from their miscommunication in episode 3, and because of that, I really, really love this scene.

What a “healthy” episode, right? If you enjoy the episode, don’t forget to vote for this anime in our weekly polls! The next episode will air on SaturdayMarch 19, at 24:00 JST. The English subtitled versions will also be available later on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Bilibili in select regions.
