My Dress-Up Darling episode 6 shows a new development — that’s right, Marin is totally crushing on Gojo! After Gojo told her how beautiful she was last week, Marin can’t help but feel nervous around him. It’s a lot to squeal about, I know. The episode dabbles on this spark but it also wastes no time in introducing the next part of their cosplay journey — collaborating with the famous cosplayer, Juju.
First off, the episode begins to show how Marin is already super head-over-heels with Gojo. It’s a cute and honest presentation of the beginning of a crush, especially when she has all those internal flusters and rosy visions. She was so bold before but now she also gets embarrassed around him. The one that really stands out here is her own self-realization confession. How is it possible that Marin keeps getting cuter with every episode?
Gojo, on the other hand, is oblivious and even almost gives his gramps a heart attack. It’s nice to see how Gojo and his gramps discuss the cosplay costume. Plus, Gramps also sweetly invites Marin over to eat with them, making Gojo and Marin’s friendship much closer. Them spending afternoons together gives me a lot of fluffy emotions.
Juju’s addition to the story is more friendly than dramatic. She’s petite, has a cute and feisty personality, and is an experienced cosplayer! ( Her introduction was really funny with the flashback. Ha-ha!) I initially thought it was going to be a live triangle development, but in the end, they all just shared a shared appreciation for their cosplay and anime passions. My Dress-Up Darling episode 6 was extra lively and fun to watch because of this! That’s my favorite part about the episode. Additionally, it’s nice to have Gojo’s work appreciated!
Not gonna lie, but Flower Princess Blaze really got me this episode — that square screen, 90’s art, fan speculations, and Marin’s entire fangirling. CloverWorks went the extra mile with animating that, and I really love how that whole scene turned out. We are at the halfway point now and the anime has been really a fun watch. Every episode delivers an amusing and wholesome development between Marin and Gojo — and I am absolutely here for all of it.
By the end of My Dress-Up Darling episode 6, Gojo officially gets his first cosplay commission! It also looks like a cosplay collaboration is on the way, but I guess we’ll just have to wait for next week to find out if Juju actually accepts!
You know, I just realized that while we are all loving Marin as best girl/waifu, she’s there loving her own best girl/waifu — Gojo. I mean, the guy can make clothes, cook delicious food, and has the most wholesome personality! Absolute best boy, I tell you. It’s really charming how it’s actually Marin (and not the awkward Gojo) who gets a crush first and even falls in love hard. This anime is really a unique gem. Don’t forget to vote for this anime in our weekly polls!
Episode 7 will air on Saturday, February 19, at 24:00 JST. The English subtitled versions will also be available later on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Bilibili in select regions.
