My Hero Academia manga is going on a two-week hiatus due to Kohei Horikoshi’s poor health. Chapter 380 was initially scheduled to be released in the #10/2023 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump but will now release on February 20 with issue #12.
This isn’t the first time the My Hero Academia manga has gone on hiatus. In December 2022, Horikoshi also took a one-week break due to concerning health issues, and even before that as well at the end of October 2022 stating in the official author comments on the VIZ Media blog, “I’m sorry for all the breaks. My schedule is a mess. I’m getting back on track.”
My Hero Academia is an original manga series written and illustrated by Horikoshi. It began publishing in 2014 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump. The series has gone on to become one of the most successful manga of all time, leading to a widely popular anime adaptation, stage plays, movies, spin-off series, light novels, trading cards, mobile games, and even drama CDs. The award-winning manga has seen success only a few others have ever reached. My Hero Academia officially surpassed 85 million copies in circulation, making it the second-most successful new-gen manga (post-2015). Demon Slayer is in first with 150 million.
