After 13 years, Noragami: Stray God revealed that it will be releasing its final chapter on January 6, 2024. The manga’s upcoming ending was announced in its recent chapter in the December issue of Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine.
According to Adachitoka’s author note, the upcoming Chapter 109 will conclude the manga’s story with a total of 45 pages and a special colored page. They also announced a one-issue hiatus. Thus, the January issue of the magazine, which will be released on December 6th, will not be including a new Noragami chapter.
The “Final Arc” of Noragami began in Volume 26, with Chapter 100. Kodansha describes the plot of the story as:
Yato finally reaches Yukiné and gets him back from the Crafter, but danger still looms ahead. Meanwhile, Ebisu and Takemikazuchi reach an island and find a modest shrine hidden away. There, the two get closer to learning the truth behind a god’s reincarnation…
Noragami: Stray God is a manga written and illustrated by the manga artist duo Adachitoka. Noragami began serialization in 2010 in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine, while Kodansha USA licensed the manga in English in 2014. There are 26 volumes compiled, with Volume 27 also previously announced as the manga’s final volume. An anime series adaptation by Studio Bones was produced in 2013 and its sequel, Noragami Aragoto, in 2015. The anime also has four original animated DVDs (OAD) and features original arcs not included in the manga. Crunchyroll streams the series and describes the plot:
Yato may just be a minor god now, but he’s determined to make it big and he’s got a plan. Unfortunately, things just don’t seem to be going his way. He doesn’t have a single shrine dedicated to him, his partner has just quit, and now he’s got to find a new divine weapon. Just when things look bleak, he meets a girl named Hiyori and changes her life forever.
