The upcoming supernatural comedy anime Otaku Elf revealed a new key visual and trailer on Friday. The opening and ending theme songs were also announced alongside two additional cast members. Nanawo Akari is singing the opening song titled “Kien Romance” while the ending song “Odoru Hikari” is performed by the rock band Cody・Lee (李). Voice actors Haruka Aikawa and Hitomi Sekine are joining the cast as Koma Sakuraba and Koyuzu Koganei respectively. The anime is scheduled to premiere on April 7.
Studio C2C is animating the series with Takefumi Anzai acting as director. Shogo Yasukawa is writing the series composition while Akito Matsuda is composing the music. Takeshi Oda is adapting the character designs from the manga and also serves as the chief animation director. The main cast includes Ami Koshimizu as Elda and Yuka Ozaki as Koito Koganei. The anime previously revealed a trailer and visual in June 2022.
Otaku Elf anime is adapted from the manga by Akihiko Higuchi. Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine Edge is serializing the series since June 2019 and currently has 6 volumes in circulation. Seven Seas Entertainment is licensing the manga in English and describes the plot as follows:
A lighthearted manga series about a quirky elf from another world who’s fascinated by video games–and the local girls who have to deal with her. Koganei Koito works as the teenage shrine maiden at the Takamimi Shrine, catering to the whims of its resident: a centuries-old elf who loves video games as much as she hates going outside! Line up your offerings for the otaku elf—some energy drinks, chips and video games will do nicely—and watch her new friends scramble to keep up!
