The upcoming Laid-Back Camp (Yuru Camp) movie revealed yet another key visual, this time with all of the Outdoor Activities Club members. Just as the title suggests, they are once again camping together.
The movie, which is set to open on July 1 in Japan, recently revealed a teaser trailer. Before that, character visuals were also revealed – one for Nadeshiko (Yumiri Hanamori), Rin (Nao Toyama), Chiaki (Sayuri Hara), Aoi (Aki Toyosaki), and Ena (Rie Takahashi) each.
The movie is a sequel to the TV anime. C-Station studio animated both the anime (which has two seasons) and is also working on the movie, which will be directed by Yoshiaki Kyougoku. Mutsumi Sasaki is in charge of character designs, while Mutsumi Ito and Jin Tanaka are writing the screenplay. Tanaka also worked on the TV anime, but Ito did the series composition for Room Camp (Heya Camp) side-story. The first season of the anime adaptation aired in the Winter 2018 season, with the second following in Winter of 2021. Crunchyroll co-financed the anime and also streamed it.
Laid-Back Camp is based on a manga by Afro, which started serialization in 2015 The manga has 74 chapters, with Yen Press publishing the English translation.
Crunchyroll is streaming the anime and describes the plot as:
Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.
