Momoko Osato and Naoki Sekito, professional Japanese golfers, are set to make a cameo appearance in the ongoing second season of Birdie Wing. TV Tokyo announcer Shotaro Nakagaki is set to also make a cameo in the anime in terms of providing narrated commentary.
I am very happy to have the opportunity to appear in “BIRDIE WING.” I am very excited to see what it will be like! I think even people who don’t know golf can enjoy it, so I’d be happy if many people could watch it!

Momoko Osato currently plays for the professional golf tour LPGA of Japan Tour where she was won twice. Naoki Sekito’s took part in the ZOZO Championship in California in 2020.
The second season of Birdie Wing premiered this April 7, and there are four episodes currently out. The first season of the anime ran from April to June 2022. The main cast of the first season of the anime have returned to reprise their roles this season:
Birdie Wing: Golf Girl’s Story is produced and animated by Bandai Namco Picture (formerly known as Sunrise). Takayuki Inagaki served as the director, Kei Ajiki did character designs, and Yousuke Kuroda oversaw the series composition. The same studio and staff are returning for the second season.
The official website describes the plot as:
Nafres, a country in Europe. Golf prodigy Eve spends her days betting on golf to earn a living.
One day, she has a fateful encounter with Aoi Amawashi, the daughter of the owner of a large corporation and an elite golf player. The two are both geniuses, but, they live in completely different worlds. Eve, the “Rainbow Bullet”, and Aoi, the “Innocent Tyrant” both genuinely enjoy golf without being pressured. The two are attracted to each other, influenced by each other, and also change each other. This is a golf girl’s story where talent collides with talent.
