The popular comedy show Rick and Morty is getting a 10-episode spin-off anime titled Rick and Morty: The Anime from Tower of God director Takashi Sano. Sano previously directed two anime shorts set in the same universe. You can check out Rick and Morty vs. Genocider on Adult Swim’s official YouTube channel:

Studio Telecom Animation Film will be in charge of the production. The series will adapt material from the main series, but Rick and Morty: The Anime is also set to have its own standing a an original work. Sano commented:
The multiverse-straddling exploits of Rick and the gang pose challenges to the family bond, but they always rise to the occasion. It’s such a life affirming sight, and Jerry is no exception. I am honored to have been given an opportunity to tell a new story about this amazing family. I hope you enjoy their adventures!
