Wataru Momose’s Romantic Killer manga is getting an anime adaptation. The web anime will be animated by DOMERICA and released globally by Netflix on October 27. A trailer has been also released:
The main cast for Romantic Killer anime has been also announced: Rie Takahashi as Anzu Hoshino and Mikako Komatsu as Riri. Kazuya Ichikawa will be directing the series, while Ryo Kawasaki and Tomoyuki Kono will be writing the scripts. Arisa Matsuura is doing the character design.
“It was amazing to see how many people, including the director and scriptwriters, were involved in the story that was initially created by one person… And I’m not familiar with voice actors, so I threw out a list of candidates. Netflix was too serious and came up with too many talented people, which made me laugh,” Momose said, regarding the selected voice actors and staff for the anime.
Romantic Killer was serialized on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ website from July 30, 2019, to June 2, 2020. Viz Media has licensed the manga in English, describing the plot as:
Anzu must play along in this altered reality before she can return to her normal life, so she begrudgingly makes friends with Tsukasa Kazuki. He unfortunately happens to be one of the hottest and most popular guys at school, and what’s worse, she realizes that he might not even be that bad of a person!
