The upcoming Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence anime revealed two character trailers on Saturday during Anime Japan 2023. The characters who got introduced through their own respective trailers are Haiselita Aldridge (voiced by Kanna Nakamura) and Abel (voiced by Haruki Ishiya). The anime is slated to premiere this July after it was delayed due to the spread of COVID-19.
The series previously announced a visual during the Aniplex Online Fest 2022. Studio Doga Kobo is animating the series under the direction of Sumie Noro. Yuka Yamada is supervising the series composition, Nakagawa Hiromi doing character designs, and Ruka Kawada composing the music. The main cast includes Kaito Ishikawa as Lawrence and Hime Sawada as Cecilia.
The anime is based on the manga series by Kazutake Hazano, which has been serialized in Kodansha’s Shonen Magazine R online magazine since 2017. Kodansha is licensing the series in English and they describe the first volume as:
Saint Cecilia is beloved by the townspeople—not only is she elegant and composed, she benevolently shares her wisdom with all who seek it. That is, until the last person has left—at which point she becomes totally hopeless! Only Pastor Lawrence, is keeping the Saint put together enough to do her duties…and though she may test him, it’s all in a day’s work!
