Sasaki and Peeps Season 2 Anime Announced

Sasaki and Peeps has announced a season 2 TV anime with a trailer, as well as a celebratory illustration from the light novel illustrator. Studio SILVER LINK animated the first season, which ran for a total of 12 episodes from January 5 until March 22. The season 2 announcement trailer was revealed at Anime Japan 2024, and it features the opening song “FLY” by MADKID, and you can check it out below.

The Sasaki and Peeps anime is based on a light novel series written by Buncololi, with illustrations by Kantoku. You can see the celebratory illustration by Kantoku below.

The light novel was first published as a web novel on Kakuyomu and Shosetsuka ni Naro websites in December 2018, after which it was serialized under Media Factory’s MF Bunko J imprint in January 2021. There is also manga adaptation by Pureji Osho in Kadokawa Shoten’s Shonen Ace Plus, which also began in January 2021.

Yen Press has licensed both the Sasaki and Peeps light novel and manga in English, and they describe the story for the light novel:
SWORDS AND SORCERY! PSYCHIC BATTLES?! MAGICAL GIRLS?!?! Tired and unfulfilled by his dead-end job, Sasaki decides to adopt Peeps, an adorable pet Java sparrow. Peeps, however, is really Piercarlo, a powerful sage from another world! After Peeps bestows Sasaki with magic and the ability to cross worlds, the two decide to export household items for profit in pursuit of a leisurely lifestyle. But when Sasaki’s new magic gets him mixed up in a whole other kind of supernatural struggle back in Japan, will it destroy his chances at realizing the relaxing life of his dreams?
