P.A. Works’ previously announced original anime Mayonaka Punch anime revealed a new trailer at the Anime Japan 2024 event. The new trailer featured the cast members. The anime is scheduled to premiere this July.
Mayonaka Punch previously revealed a teaser trailer and visual. Shu Honma is directing the series with Hideaki Shirasaka as the scriptwriter. Ryota Arima is adapting the character designs from Tsukasa Kotobuki who is in credited as the original character designer. The main cast includes:
- Fairouz Ai as Live
- Ikumi Hasegawa as Masaki
- Ai Kayano as Yuki
- Hitomi Ueda as Tokage
- Hina Yomiya as Fuu
- Yuina Ito as Ichiko
The Mayonaka Punch original anime will also get a manga adaptation, with illustrations by Tomomi Usui. It is scheduled to begin serialization in Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace magazine in March 2024, while a novel adaptation has also been announced.
The anime’s story follows Masaki, a member of the NewTuber group “Harakiri Sisters,” who got fired due to some incident. Masaki then is trying to make a comeback and meets Live. Aiming to hit a million channel subscribers, Masaki now makes the best videos with Live who has supernatural abilities.
