Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Finale - Reunion With Miharu and Celia

The anime Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles has reached the finale, with the 12th episode. Celia was about to marry the unpleasant and indecent man, Charles Albor. But Rio stepped in to stop the wedding ceremony in an attempt to save her from disgrace. The events really turned exciting as Rio entered into another adventure.

Warning: Spoilers Ahead!

At the beginning of the episode, Rio overwhelms the supposedly strongest military unit of the kingdom. He knocks Charles Albor on the floor and stands above him. After that, Rio pulls out a knife and acts like he is going to kill Celia. There, through telepathy, he tells her the plan. After a short discussion, Celia tells Rio that she wants him to take herself outside the royal capital. Thus, Rio follows her order and beats another bunch of soldiers in his way. Rio passes Celia to Aisha so that he can act as a decoy while the two girls escape.

Celia and Rio

I was really hyped when I was watching this scene. He finally saved Celia from Charles’ malicious desires. In the episode preview my thoughts were always “please protect Celia” or “please save Celia” because her character caught my attention when the anime was only starting. Celia also confirmed that she had feelings for Rio in the previous episodes. So I was looking forward to seeing the development between the two of them. This scene was very heartwarming because at last, after 4 years, the two of them were finally reunited.

Battle With Alfred

While playing the decoy, the king’s sword, Alfred confronts Rio. The two of them fight and Rio’s skills get to shine. However, Alfred becomes irritated as soon as he notices that Rio is not taking the battle seriously. Thankfully, Rio is able to escape.

The battle between Rio and Alfred

I was waiting for this scene since episode 1 because you can see it in the opening sequence. The animation was really fantastic. Rio also reminds me of Kirito from SAO, both in skill and because they share a voice actor. Overall, this was his most challenging battle so far and I wonder if we’ll get to see more of them in the future.

Reunion

After a few minutes, Rio finally joins Aishia and Celia. Rio and Celia promise each other that they will have a long talk to make up for the time that they lost while they were apart. However, Aishia suddenly feels that something is about to happen and a few moments later several light beams appear around them.

Ayase Miharu, who appeared in episode 1, suddenly materializes in Aishia’s vision. Aisha begs Rio to save the people she saw in her vision. He agrees and goes to the site only to find slave traders. He defeats the slave traders and sets the people free. To his surprise, he saw Miharu, his childhood friend when he was still living on Earth as Amakawa Haruto.

Ayase Miharu

The season finale ends in somewhat of a cliffhanger, which is why I’m hoping it’ll get a season 2.

Well, if the finale of Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles also hyped you with the sudden turn of events, you can vote for the anime on our weekly poll.

Lastly, if you enjoyed the anime from its first episode until the last, you can vote for it as anime of the season in the next few days.
