Notable Voice Actors

The series actually has an all-star cast which makes it more exciting. Aside from Matsuoka as Rio, Akane Fujita is lending her voice to Celia Claire along with Tomori Kusonoki as Latifa. Sayaka Harada is voicing the main protagonist’s love interest Miharu Ayase, while Yuuki Kuwahara is voicing her isekai’d version Aisha.

Yoshitsugu Matsuoka also voiced other isekai characters such as Kirito from Sword Art Online and Ren Amaki from The Rising of the Shield Hero. Akane Fujita also worked with Yoshitsugo Matsuoka by voicing Sagiri Izumi from Eromanga-sensei.

On the other hand, Sayaka Harada voiced Halkara from I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level while Tomori Kusonoki voiced Neiru Aonuma from Wonder Egg Priority. Yuuki Kuwahara is also back as Tohru from Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, which airs this season as well.

A New World of Magic

Spirit Chronicles is an isekai series wherein a bunch of people riding a bus who got caught in a traffic accident was reincarnated to the magical world of the Kingdom of Beltrum. Yes, instead of reincarnating a single character, it’d be better to bring the whole party; or so they thought.

The magical adventure starts with a young boy named Rio, who had mixed memories with Haruto, his identity in the real world. Rio will eventually meet two maidens – Celia Clare and someone who’s unknown. Celia is the best magician in the kingdom and she will become Rio’s guide and mentor. Meanwhile, the unknown maiden in pink will teach Rio how to use his magic.

These two maidens will play a big role in Rio’s adventure, and the series will be introducing more characters soon!

First Episode, First Impressions

The series started steadily well-paced, covering chapters 1 to 3 of the light novel. But the episode skipped a two-page prologue depicting the life of Rio and a certain goal he wanted to accomplish. Surely, this important fact will eventually unfold in future episodes, because this depicts Rio’s sole purpose and mission.

With that in mind, Spirit Chronicles had a good start, and the series is highly recommended for fans of the isekai genre. Another wonderful and spectacular journey awaits enthusiastic travelers! It might be too early to proclaim this, but the series will surely get better and better.
