Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Movie Casts Tristan's Voice Actors

The upcoming Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh movie revealed new voice cast additions, as well as character designs for Meliodas and Tristan. Mikako Komatsu is reprising her role from the final season of the TV anime, while Ayumu Murase will be voicing older Tristan. The first part of the movie will premiere on Netflix worldwide in 2022.

The information was revealed during Netflix’s AnimeJapan 2022 stage. Yuki Kaji presented the new information about the movie while referring to it as a “true Netflix original” and joking about now being a dad. The main character in the movie will be Tristan.

Alfred Imageworks and Marvy Jack are animating the Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh movie. The movie will be fully in CGI. Marvy Jack was involved with the production of seasons 3 and 4 of the TV anime series.

The new movie will take place after the original series and before the events of the Four Knights of the Apocalypse manga sequel. The story is an original work and appears to be focusing on Tristan who leaves his father’s castle after a mysterious army attacks it. On his journey, he meets fairies and giants who will change his life forever. Watch the teaser trailer below:

The original Seven Deadly Sins series also has an anime adaptation with 4 seasons and 2 movies. The first 2 seasons and Prisoners of the Sky movie were animated by A-1 Pictures. Studio DEEN took over for seasons 3 and 4, and the latest movie Cursed by Light served as an anime-only sequel. TV anime was a Netflix exclusive worldwide, while the movies had theatrical screenings in Japan. All the seasons and both movies, as well as a special OVA series, are now available on Netflix.

Four Knights of the Apocalypse is the sequel to Nakaba Suzuki’s highly popular Seven Deadly Sins series. The Four Knights manga started serialization in 2021, right after the original series ended. Kodansha published the manga in English and describes the plot as:

In the world of The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, Percival has always lived with his grandfather on the idyllic, remote God’s Finger. And though Percival loves the simple life, he longs for adventure. That is, until adventure comes knocking at his door, tearing away everything he’s ever known and leaving him alone in the world. Now Percival has no choice but to go out into the world and see what it holds…after all, it’s his destiny!
