Music platform Spotify in Japan has released a multi-content curated playlist for the ONE PIECE FILM RED anime film. The playlist features previously-released tracks by Ado for the film including “Utakata Lullaby”, “New Genesis”, “Watashi wa saikou.”, and “Gyakko”.
Included in the Spotify playlist are voice comments from Luffy’s voice actor Mayumi Tanaka. In addition, TV commercials for the ONE PIECE FILM RED curated playlist were launched in Japan on August 10, and will continue until August 21 across various TV networks.
ANIZONE, Spotify Japan’s dedicated anime-themed original podcast series, will also feature ONE PIECE FILM RED this month. A total of four episodes will be distributed every Friday in August.
ONE PIECE FILM RED released in Japanese theaters on August 6. According to the box office records, the film performed better than any previous ONE PIECE film. It earned around 2.25 billion yen ($16.6 million USD) in the first 2 days of screening in Japan (August 6 & August 7).
The film revolves around Uta, with the Red Hair Pirates also having a big part. The film’s official website describes the plot as:
Uta —the most beloved singer in the world. Renowned for concealing her own identity when performing, her voice has come to be described as “otherworldly.” Now, for the first time ever, Uta will reveal herself to the world at a live concert. As the venue fills with all kinds of Uta fans —excited pirates, the Navy watching closely, and the Straw Hats led by Luffy who simply came to enjoy her sonorous performance —the voice that the whole world has been waiting for is about to resound. The story begins with the shocking fact that she is Shanks’ daughter.
