Tatsuki Fujimoto and Oto Toda to Publish a One-Shot Manga; Goodbye, Eri Cover Revealed

Manga artists Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man) and Oto Toda (To Strip the Flesh), are teaming up for a new one-shot manga project, titled “Futsu ni Kiitekure“. The new work will be published on July 4, on the Shonen Jump+. Fujimoto will be writing the story, while Toda will be in charge of the art. Details about the plot are still unknown, but the title can be translated as “Just ask” or “Ask Futsu“.

The information was teased by Shihei Lin, the editor who worked on Chainsaw Man and Fujimoto’s recent one-shot Goodbye Eri. In addition to the new manga announcement, a cover for the printed edition of Goodbye, Eri was revealed. The edition will also be out on July 4.

Both Tatsuki Fujimoto and Oto Toda are known for incorporating with mature topics in their works. Fujimoto is best-known for Fire Punch and Chainsaw Man, both serialized through Shueisha’s platforms. Fire Punch was serialized from 2016 to 2018 on the Shonen Jump+ app, while Chainsaw Man started serialization in 2018 in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It ended in 2020, and the second part is expected later this year on the Jump+ app.

Oto Toda is best known for his To Strip the Flesh (Niku wo Hagu) manga series. Viz Media licensed it in English and describes the plot as:
Chiaki Ogawa has never doubted who he is, although the rest of the world hasn’t been as kind. Bound by his mother’s dying wish, Chiaki tries to be a good daughter to his ailing father. But when the burden becomes too great, Chiaki sets out to remake himself in his own image and discovers more than just personal freedom in his transition—he finds understanding from the people who matter most.
