That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 3 Begins on Crunchyroll on March 30

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is returning with new episodes and Season 3 this spring and the first of those is coming to Crunchyroll on March 30. The first episode is a special focusing on Diablo and fans will be able to watch it on the streaming platform at 8 am PT. The trailer with official subtitles is now available:

Studio 8bit is returning to animate the sequel under Atsushi Nakayama’s direction. Toshizo Nemoto is in charge of the series composition. Jin Iketagawa is the sound director. The Tensura anime will once again feature character designs by Ryoma Ebata and creature designs by Takahiro Kishida. Hitoshi Fujima is composing the music. The cast includes:

  • Miho Okasaki as Rimuru Tempest
  • Megumi Toyoguchi as Great Sage
  • Tomoaki Maeno as Veldora 
  • Makoto Furukawa as Benimaru
  • Sayaka Senbongi as Shuna
  • M.A.O as Shion
  • Takuya Eguchi as Sōei
  • Chikahiro Kobayashi as Ranga
  • Rina Hidaka as Milim Nava

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. also known as Tensura, is based on a Japanese light novel series written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. The anime adaptation more closely follows the manga, which features art by Taiki Kawakami. The franchise also has a spin-off anime titled The Slime Diaries: That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, which adapted one of the manga spin-off series. A movie titled Scarlet Bond premiered in 2022. The most recent installment in the anime series was a three-episode Coleus’ Dream OVA which premiered last year.

Season 3 of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime officially premieres on April 5 and Crunchyroll describes the plot as:
Rimuru has officially become a Demon Lord after defeating Clayman. Following Walpurgis, the Demon Lords’ banquet, Rimuru’s domain is expanded to include the entire Great Forest of Jura. Anticipating a flood of representatives from all races showing up to pay their respects, Rimuru decides to throw a festival to commemorate the opening of Tempest, using it as an opportunity to gain new citizens and present Demon Lord Rimuru to the world. Meanwhile, in the Holy Empire of Lubelius, home base of the monster-hating cult of Luminism, Holy Knight Captain Hinata receives a message from Rimuru. But the message is actually a fabricated declaration of war sent by some unknown party. Upon learning that Hinata is heading for Tempest, Rimuru makes a decision… Thus begins a new challenge for Rimuru, striving to distinguish friend from foe in a pursuit of the ideal nation where humans and monsters can prosper together.
