On December 21, Florida Film Critic Circle (FCC) announced the winners of their 2024 awards and The Boy and the Heron won the award for Best Picture. This makes it the first animated film to be awarded for Best Pictures in FCC history. It’s worth noting that this is the highest recognition by this organization. In addition, The Boy and the Heron has also won the Best Animated Film and Best Score for Joe Hisashi’s music.
The Boy and the Heron has also won other multiple awards in the US: the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, New York Film Critics Circle Awards, San Diego Film Critic Society, Chicago Film Critics Association, Boston Society of Film Critics, Philadelphia Film Critics Circle, and Dallas Forth-Worth Film Critics Association. The movie has also won the award for Best Foreign Film in Philadelphia Critics Circle. GKIDS created an infographic to showcase all of them:
