To Your Eternity Episode 6 — Fushi Meets the Enemy

“To Your Eternity” episode 6 is out! After last episode’s emotional roller coaster ride, we get to see a wholesome transformation for Fushi’s human side. Fushi also finds a travel companion and teacher in Pioran, and they travel beyond the sea. However, two other mysterious creatures appear in front of Fushi. The episode is titled, “Our Goals.”

To Your Eternity Episode 6 — Fushi travels alone

“To Your Eternity” episode 6 begins with the Observer, now known as The Beholder from the official character names, narrating how Fushi sets off on his journey again. After acquiring new vessels, Fushi becomes more used to using each form for different purposes. For instance, he prefers to use Joanne to follow scents and March to climb trees for food. Apparently, Fushi dislikes transforming into Oniguma because it is too painful.

Fushi Meets a Familiar Face

Fushi eventually reunites with Grandma Pioran who is camping by herself in the forest. The old lady complains about having been alone since their escape. She is surprised to see March alive, but quickly realizes it is Fushi when he transforms into the Nameless Boy. With no regard to the upset old lady, Fushi begins to walk away, and Pioran comes along with him.

The next day, Pioran becomes exhausted and suddenly bites Fushi’s leg asking for thigh meat. She reasons that he’ll just regenerate anyway (she’s not wrong though). Fushi runs away and climbs the tree in March’s form. Pioran is already sobbing about how hungry she is. Fushi-March picks fruit off the tree and throws it at the old lady below. This scene is really nostalgic (and sad) because it is the exact same scenario with March back in episode 2.

Travelling with Grandma Pioran

The two become travel buddies when they discover a map and decide to go to Pioran’s hometown. Then, Fushi becomes fascinated with pen and paper. This begins Pioran’s lessons for reading, writing, and speaking. Throughout their journey, Pioran would teach random words and phrases while Fushi mimics them.

“To Your Eternity” episode 6 is quite calming so far. The episode proceeds as the pair arrive at a port and depart by boat. At this point, Fushi can already say simple words and phrases. Although his pronunciation and voice is still weird, Fushi has already learned so much. He is reminded of March’s dream—”To grow up is to learn.” He then tells the story of the Nameless Boy to Pioran.

Fushi doesn’t even remember his name, just memories of the time they had together. At this point in “To Your Eternity” episode 6, we can really see (and feel) in this sentimental moment how attached Fushi is to his first companion.

The Enemy Surprise Attacks

Pioran and Fushi arrive on the other side of the sea but decide to rest the night in the forest. Suddenly, a moving branch appears from the ground. The observer’s voice also appears as it notices, surprised even, that something has come to “play.” The suspicious tree grows and gruesomely impales a sleeping Fushi.

To Your Eternity Episode 6 — Branches on Fushi’s vessel

The next thing we see is that the strange creature now looks like the Nameless Boy! Time suddenly stops, and The Beholder appears as a mysterious cloaked person. (Goosebumps!) He explains that the tree creature took away Fushi’s valuable memories, that what he is feeling right now is discomfort and emptiness. Lastly, he gives advice— “That is your enemy. Fight it and win”.

“To Your Eternity” episode 6 becomes quite intense all so quickly. While the two of them face off in an epic battle, The Beholder coaches Fushi about the enemy’s core with the ability to weaken Fushi. After losing his wolf form, Fushi transforms into the powerful Oniguma. Fushi even warns Pioran not to come near. Unfortunately, Fushi also loses Oniguma. This creature is really adept at stealing, apparently! Wow, this episode is really keeping me on the edge of my seat!

The Beholder’s Goals

Fushi finally transforms to his last vessel, March. Now as Oniguma, the tree creature’s branches move aggressively but Fushi-March removes its core just in time. The strange creature then reverts back to plain wood. Fushi’s valuable memories flow back to him and it’s a heart-warming moment to see the relief on his face. Thereafter, The Beholder introduces itself as Fushi’s maker.

He goes on to say that both of them have a grand objective —to preserve the world. The otherworldly Beholder bids farewell even though Fushi doens’t understand. Pioran asks what happened, and Fushi replies with a simple “I don’t know. That was weird.” How cute and silly is that? Here I am stressed from the episode, and he just makes it all instantly better.

The episode comes to a close as Pioran and Fushi arrive at another village the next day. Pioran enters a house looking for an old man and announces that she brought an “immortal freak” as a gift. We meet a new character wearing an odd mask. A new friend, perhaps?

A Thrilling Episode! What’s coming for Fushi?

“To Your Eternity” episode 6 was such an interesting episode. I really enjoyed the entire pacing. The first half was mellow and it gave us enough time to recover from last episode. And then in the second half, we are given this suspenseful and fierce battle. The fact that the enemy could steal vessels and memories was so scary, crazy, and creepy!

Thankfully, Fushi got them all back. Judging from the opening theme, it seems that Fushi will be fighting more of these creepy creatures soon. Also, isn’t it interesting that it has a core just like Fushi’s? The Maker did call it a failure… but who sent it? Ah, the plot thickens!

To Your Eternity Episode 6 — Fushi meets The Beholder

It was also unexpected for The Beholder to actually interact with Fushi. He’s not just a narrator anymore. It also seems this all part of a grand plan, and the world of “To Your Eternity” just got bigger. I’m definitely excited for the next episode now that we know a bit more about Fushi’s purpose in the world, other than stimulation.

Honestly, my favorite part of this favorite is Fushi’s speech and understanding. Although he still sounds weird, he can basically communicate now. His growth is amazing, and he definitely carries March’s dreams now too. Pioran is a wonderful travel buddy and an even better teacher.
