When Will Ayumu Make His Move (Soredemo Ayumu wa Yosetekuru) released a key visual and the 2nd teaser PV on May 24. The anime is scheduled to broadcast on July 7, 2022 in Japan. The plot is romantic comedy, following Ayumu Tanaka who falls in love with a Senpai, Urushi Yaotomoe of Shogi Club and decides to join the club.
The key visual shows the two characters standing in a distance that implies their current relationship. It came with a catchphrase “Kono Omoi, Ittezutsu“, talking about his or their moves one after another about his/their feelings, in related to the Shogi game.
The 2nd teaser PV is available on PONY CANYON’s YouTube channel. You can enjoy the characters’ voices with the opening theme song “Kakehiki wa Poker Face” performed by Kana Hanazawa. She also plays the role of Maki, Urushi Yaotome’s classmate. SILVER LINK. has been producing the anime with Mirai Minato’s direction.

When Will Ayumu Make His Move is a manga by the author of Teasing Master Takagi-san, Soichiro Yamamoto. It is currently ongoing shonen manga series that begun in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in March 2019. Volume 12 will be released in July 2022.

Ayumu is in love with his senpai Yaotome, but he’s sworn not to confess his feelings until he can beat her at the board game shogi… The problem is, his love is obvious to Yaotome, and she can’t stop trying to trick him into breaking his vow!
