That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensura) and Love Live!‘s spin-off, YOHANE THE PARHELION -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR-, revealed a short chibi collaboration movie earlier today. The ambitious collaboration that nobody could have predicted is titled RIMURU THE PARHELION -SUNSHINE in the SLIME– and available on Love Live‘s YouTube channel:
Yohane the Parhelion -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR- is a fantasy spin-off of the Love Live! franchise focused on Aquors members who are living in an alternate reality. Originally announced as an April Fool’s joke, the anime is premiering on July 2. Studio Sunrise (now known as Bandai Namco Filmworks) is animating it.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime franchise, which recently released the Scarlet Bond movie, is also getting an addition this fall in the form of an OVA titled Coleus’ Dream. The third season of the TV anime is also coming: it has a Spring 2024 premiere date.
Second part of the unusual collab will stream on July 18. Both of these franchises are connected to Bandai Namco Filmworks: as mentioned above, the company will animate the Yohane the Parhelion -SUNSHINE in the MIRROR- (Bandai Namco is one of the creators of the franchise) and it is also involved with the Tensura franchise. Most recently Filmworks did distribution and music production for the Scarlet Bond movie. Bandai Namco Filmworks was formed in April 2022 through a merger of studio Sunrise, Bandai Namco Arts, and Bandai Namco Rights Marketing,
