The 2022 anime adaptation of BLEACH, which is covering the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc, has received a new trailer ahead of the confirmed October 10 premiere date. The anime will be airing in 4 cours, which will be non-consecutive (won’t air season after season). Studio Pierrot is in charge of the production, with Tomohisa Taguchi as the director. The BLEACH creator Tite Kubo recently gave a special interview where he talked about his involvement with the animation production process and what he feels most excited about. He said that he gave many suggestions for the battle and color designs, and that fans can expect a faithful adaptation from Studio Pierrot based on what he’s seen so far. The studio previously produced the original TV anime adaptation of Tite Kubo’s BLEACH manga, which aired between October 2004 and March 2012 with a total of 366 episodes. VIZ Media licensed it in English, and they describe the BLEACH 2022 (TYBW) story:
The peace is suddenly broken when warning sirens blare through the Soul Society. Residents there are disappearing without a trace and nobody knows who’s behind it, meanwhile, a dark shadow is also extending itself toward Ichigo and his friends in Karakura Town…
