The final Summer 2023 Anime of the Season awards winners have been revealed, and Bungo Stray Dogs 5 was voted the best show in the main AOTS category. The votes were calculated using the weekly results and combining them with the final ‘Anime of the Season’ poll, and a total of 32,635 people participated. Bungo Stray Dogs 5 had 9.19% of the score percentage, and behind it were BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War -The Separation- and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 2. Bungo Stray Dogs (Literary Stray Dogs) is a manga series written by Kafka Asagiri and Sango Harukawa. It has been serialized in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine since 2012. The series has multiple light novels, manga spin-offs, and live-action stage plays. Studio Bones is handling the animation of the series, which has now caught up to the manga. The 5th season ended with episode 11, but a continuation has already been teased.
Besides the main category, the anime did well all around. Its ending song also won, while the opening ranked 2nd in the Summer 2023 theme song ranking. In the Best Seiyuu ranking, five of the voice actors with Bungo Stray Dogs 5 roles ranked in the top 10. They were Mamoru Miyano (Dazai) in first, Takehito Koyasu (Nikolai Gogol) in second, Akio Otsuka (Genichiro) in third, Hiroshi Kamiya (Ranpo) in fourth, Jun Fukuyama (Ango) in sixth and Yuto Uemura (Atsushi) in seventh place. Dazai also ranked second in the Best Boy ranking, with Akutagawa in eight place. Aya Koda ranked second in the Best Girl ranking as well.
