Evangelion 3.0+1.0 Film Earns 7 Billion Yen In 30 Days

The official Twitter of Studio Khara announced on April 7, 2021, that Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time has made over 7 billion yen (around US$63.7 million). It took the film exactly 30 days since the premiere to earn that much. Not only that, during its premiere day, the film made over 800 million (around US$7.6 million), selling 539,623 tickets.

The Tweet mentions that 7 billion yen in 30 days is a new record for the Evangelion series. What’s more, it says that some theaters in Japan will start late showings on April 9, 2021.

The theme for the film is performed by Utada Hikaru and is titled “One Last Kiss“. Once posted, it also became very popular reaching over 24 million views on Youtube (as of the moment of writing).
