Fruits Basket The Final - Episode 9 Preview Images Released

Fruits Basket: The Final is growing more intense with each episode. Last week’s episode ended with Akito holding a knife and approaching Tohru outside of the Soma house. It seems the series’ antagonist is on a murderous rampage after stabbing Kureno in episode 7. The Fruits Basket official Japanese Twitter posted the preview images for episode 9 on May 28, 2021. From the looks of things, we’re in for another monumental episode.

You can view the full Twitter post below:

The first preview image shared in the tweet for Fruits Basket: The Final episode 9 shows a shocked Akito. What’s more concerning, however, is the subsequent image of Tohru, smiling wanly, with blood on her torso. She’s holding out her hand to someone and, given her relentless kindness, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if that person was Akito. In another image, Kyo appears to be crying; possibly because of how he left things with Tohru, possibly because she’s been hurt. We’ll have to wait until the next episode to find out.

Other preview images shared by ORICON NEWS show that we’ll also get a scene with Tohru’s mom, and one with Akito’s dad. Therefore, perhaps Tohru and Akito will end up bonding over the way their parents have shaped their worldviews. We know that Tohru’s sunny and thoughtful demeanor is a result of her upbringing. Equally, Akito’s need to be adored by the Soma family was instilled in her from a young age, when her dying father told her she was born to be loved.
