With brands now exploring the greater possibilities the metaverse can do in creating connections, Hololive Alternative, the alternative world project under Hololive Production, has released new details for the planned metaverse project. The said project is aptly called ‘Holoearth’.
According to the official news details posted on the Hololive Alternative website, the ultimate goal is to ‘experience this world alongside the talents of Hololive Production.’
They further stated that on their end, a newly formed in-house development team is already hard at work for this project.
In addition to said goals, Hololive Alternative enumerates three sub-projects that will make the success of the metaverse project.
The first of which is a sandbox game, where players can go on adventures and experience daily life, as well as battle monsters, build a house to live in, and immerse one’s self in the world of Holoearth.
Likewise, the project will also feature a communication lobby, where fans can meet and converse with fellow fans. They can also recruit a party to go adventuring within the sandbox game through the said lobby. The company is hopeful as well that they can hold special events in the space in the future.
Lastly, they are also developing an avatar creation system to allow adventurers to create the bodies they will inhabit when they enter the world of Holoearth. Through the course of their interactions, users will be able to collect, equip, and customize various outfits, equipment, and accessories for their avatar bodies.
Initially, PC would be the only supported platform, but we plan to add mobile support later, with some delay.
We estimate 1 to 2 years of total development time, but we are considering using alpha/beta tests and early access to let fans experience each of the subprojects as soon as possible.
We will continue to provide periodic updates on the development, so keep your eyes peeled.
