Horimiya Episode 10: Tooru and Yuki Have a Talk

Episode 10 of Horimiya is out, and Tooru sadly continues to underestimate himself. First, the episode started with Hori being jealous again, and Miyamura’s friends were probably in danger there for a moment. She literally told him that if he ever falls for someone else, it just needs to be a girl, and he took it seriously enough to agree.

After this, it got to the part with Yuki. She met Yanagi while shopping with her sister, who was surprised to learn about what had happened between them. Her insecurities and inability to say what she wants were reaffirmed, and it almost seemed like she’d lost the chance to be with Tooru. Talking with Remi, we saw that she understood how desperate it was, and Remi seems to have made her admit that she has a crush. It felt pretty depressing, and just as she was about to go back to school, she saw the message from Tooru about Sakura.

She did go back after that, and although she tried to act normal, Tooru had none of it and immediately called her outside. Of course, she thought he was going to tell her they have to stop pretending they’re dating. Or that he was going to go out with Sakura. Instead, he gave her an inspirational talk about snow and held her hand again. The episode could have ended cheerfully right there, but we also saw the sad side of it through Sakura. She broke down in front of Sengoku, who can’t really comfort her.

Best boy Tooru

The illustrator of the manga, Hagiwara Daisuke, also posted an illustration of Yuki to commemorate the episode:

In case you’re somehow here without knowing what it is, read the story and maybe give it a shot:

Kyouko and Izumi are two classmates who each lead a double life: the popular and talented Kyouko cares for her little brother by herself while her parents are away, and the quiet, bespectacled Izumi hides his many piercings and tattoos at school. After accidentally discovering each other’s secrets the pair becomes fast friends, and together, they begin to navigate their new relationship together amongst unknowing peers and love rivals alike.
