You most likely have been to a virtual event for the past two years, but have you ever wondered what it’s like to participate as a featured guest?
Following our feature on Indonesia’s Comic Frontier Virtual 2 held December last year, Anime Corner is given an opportunity to ask Hololive Indonesia members Ayunda Risu and Pavolia Reine about their experiences in participating at Comivuro 2.
Anime Corner (AC): This is not the first time HoloID participated in Comifuro. What can you say about Comifuro Virtual 2 this time?
Ayunda Risu: I was actually amazed on how Comifuro Virtual 2 has provided a virtual space to bring back the sensation of “gathering at an event with friends” that has been the main point for most of anime convention. To know that there was a great improvement with the event has given me great joy and excitement to be able to participate again in the event.
Pavolia Reine: I really love the virtual venue!!! I think one super fun part of going to events, including Comifuro, is that as an event-goer you’re able to go together or meet up with friends as a group. Being able to relive that experience in the form of going to the virtual space really helped out with the immersion of this certain aspect of Comifuro.
AC: This time, Pavolia Reine conducted a Japanese language lesson together with Ayunda Risu on how to apply for a job using a resume. How did Reine came up with this idea?
Risu: As this was a section led by Reine, I can only think about the reason based on my own opinion. Related to the audience of Comivuro itself, which revolves mostly around young adults, I think it would be nice and helpful to give out a lesson related to jobs as a topic that is considered close and relatable to the audience.
As previous topics brought in by Comivuro also revolved around that subject as well, combined with Reine’s teaching skills, I believe that it has become a great experience for all of us.
Reine: I think, also as somebody who enjoys events like Comifuro, I’m sure we all like anime. These days, it’s very easy to start learning Japanese as you watch pop culture items like anime or videos, especially with the availability of resources everywhere.
I know a lot of people enjoy Japan for its entertainment and hobby-centric point of view, but it’s also not rare to hear people who wish, or dream, to take another step and experience studying and/or eventually working in Japan.
Of course, the things you learn by watching anime and YouTube entertainment are probably going to be different from the formal stuff you’d need, so I thought I’d touch upon something that isn’t very commonly talked about in Japanese anime and pop culture-centric discussions within communities.
Even if it’s only a little, I hope it’ll be useful to say to someone who has a glimmer of a dream of going abroad to study or work but is unsure where to begin, or even spark an interest in people who have never considered it before.
AC to Risu: How was your experience hosting Comivuro alongside Naocchi who is cosplaying as Korone?
Risu: I had enjoyed my previous experience being an MC alongside Naocchi, and I felt very excited to know that we would be MC-ing together again.
Truth be told, I was really shocked when Naocchi cosplayed as Korone the first time I saw her. It has lifted my mood throughout the entire event, and I even fangirled several times during it. A very pleasant and welcome surprise indeed.
AC to Reine: Could you tell us one experience during the fan meet that you have not yet experienced in any YABE stream, if any?
Reine: This is a difficult question, but I think being able to see my listeners face to face, and being able to talk to them directly one on one was just a very nice feeling.
There are so many things that text can’t fully replace, so being able to hear them clearly and see them express a lot of things really meant a lot to me; I’m very happy that I could thank them directly.
It’s definitely something I can’t do just any day, so I’m very thankful for the chance and I will keep treasuring the moments.
AC: What should we look forward to Hololive Indonesia in the future?
Risu: We have released several stuff like song, videos, and anything related with entertaining content. Hopefully we can do and release much more exciting content in the future! To keep you updated, it’s always advisable to follow Hololive Indonesia official twitter 👍
