Marin in Black Lobelia Mode Earns Most Fan “Heartbeats” in Episode 10

In case you haven’t heard, the official website for My Dress-Up Darling launches a poll each week where Japanese watchers click on a “Dododo” (Japanese onomatopoeia for heart-throbbing) button whenever their heartbeat elevates while watching an episode. The live data is used to determine which scenes earned the most heartbeats each week. Out of all the scenes in episode 10 titled “Everyone Has a Lot Going On“, the moment where Marin locked into model mode as Black Lobelia took the top!

As you can see below, her serious expression won the hearts of many viewers:

The official Twitter account also posted a video of Marin’s intense scene with Juju:

A huge fangirl of her favorite anime, Marin has a difficult time making a straight face when she takes cosplay photos, often grinning and acting out of character. This also happened in episode 4 when Gojo took pictures of her dressed up as Shizuku-tan. However, in the latest episode, she perfectly locks into model mode and delivers a serious expression that stuns even the famous Juju-sama.
If you’re enjoying My Dress-Up Darling, you can vote for it in Anime Corner’s weekly polls.

My Dress-Up Darling is based on a romance manga by Shinichi Fukuda, currently serialized by Square Enix. The anime adaptation is animated by studio CloverWorks, with Crunchyroll and Funimation streaming it. Crunchyroll describes the plot as:
Wakana Gojo is a high school boy who wants to become a kashirashi–a master craftsman who makes traditional Japanese Hina dolls. Though he’s gung-ho about the craft, he knows nothing about the latest trends, and has a hard time fitting in with his class. The popular kids–especially one girl, Marin Kitagawa–seem like they live in a completely different world.
