MHA’s World Heroes’ Mission Unveils 2nd Special Promotional Video

The anime film My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission unveiled its 2nd special promotional video featuring the insert song “Flowers” by ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION. The movie premiered in Japan on August 6th, 2021.

The film also grossed over $1.4 million in the first 10 days of showing. This paves the way for what is most likely going to be the highest-grossing movie in the My Hero Academia series.

My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission Visual

World Heroes’ Mission is the third movie in the My Hero Academia franchise. The first one, Heroes Rising, came out in 2018, while the second, Heroes: Rising, came out in 2019. In addition to the 3 movies, the series is also currently airing its 5th season.

The movie’s plot will focus on a villain organization that targets people with Quirks to destroy them. As professional heroes struggle to stop the threat, the Class A student interns are also helping. While out on a mission, Deku, Todoroki, and Bakugo meet Rody, who lives in the area. They end up teaming up with him, in hopes of stopping world destruction.

My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission PV reveals a lot of action scenes and the returning cast. Daiki Yamashita (Deku), Yuki Kaji (Todoroki), Nobuhiko Okamoto (Bakugo), Tetsu Inada (Endeavor), and Yuuichi Nakamura (Hawks) are reprising their roles in the movie. In addition, new characters will be voiced by Ryo Yoshizawa (Rody) and Kazuya Nakai (Flect Turn).

Kenji Nagasaki is returning to direct the movie, while Yoshihiko Umakoshi is doing character designs. Yuuki Hayashi is composing the music. ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION is performing the movie’s theme song titled “Empathy”.

Horikoshi Kouhei about My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission film

Horikoshi Kouhei, the My Hero Academia manga author, posted his thoughts on the film and its original character Rody. He says the movie was really fun and that it filled him with a sense of gratitude:

“I watched the film. I was moved to tears of gratitude as a viewer. It was really fun! I’m purely grateful for the people involved [in the film] such as director NagasakiRody was cooler than I had imagined! I wish he could appear in the main story. I wish so.”
