Hololive ID's Moona Hoshinova Reaches 1 Million YouTube Subscribers

Moonafics rejoice as Hololive Indonesia’s first-generation member Moona Hoshinova have reached 1 million YouTube subscribers today, February 22, almost two years since her debut. Moona herself woke up to the good news: “I think I’m still dreaming… right?” Various personalities in the VTubing community including her Hololive fellows have congratulated her.

In a thank-you stream, Moona received a fan-made game called “Memories of Moonlight.” More than 4,000 viewers joined Moona as she played through the game until the end, which left her with tears of joy. As she reached the million-subscriber milestone, she announced a 24-hour stream to be held in the middle of March.

Moona Hoshinova is recognized as the first Virtual YouTuber hailing from Indonesia—and to an extent, the Southeast Asian region—to reach the said subscriber milestone.

Fans celebrated Moona Hoshinova birthday last February 15 under the Crescent Luminaries project. This project brought surprises to the Hololive Indonesia talent—aside from mural art and a VTuber song cover, two Emperor Penguins are adopted on behalf of Moona and her fans through the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

Throughout her career, she has produced two original songs, 愛の小さな歌 (Ai no Chiisana Uta) and High Tide. She is widely recognized through her collaborations with Hololive Japan member Usada Pekora on Minecraft. This precious collaboration led to Pekora’s “Hey Moona!” greeting.

Aside from her streaming activities, Moona Hoshinova appeared at YouTube Music Weekend 2021, Creators Super Fest vol. 2 and AFA Singapore Online 2021. She is set to perform at the Hololive 3rd Fes. “Link Your Wish” which will be held from March 19 to 20, the same weekend as Hololive Super Expo 2022.
