A new one-shot manga by the Chainsaw Man author Tatsuki Fujimoto is now available in the Shonen Jump+ online magazine in Japan, as well as on Viz Media in English. The new 200-page one-shot is titled Goodbye, Eri and it explores some dark themes.
TIn addition to the Viz Media website, the new one-shot by the Chainsaw Man author is also available on the Shueisha’s Manga+ app, which describes the plot as:
With his mother dying, Yuta attempts to capture her last days on his phone. After her death, Yuta heads to the roof of the hospital to commit suicide, but a meeting with a strange girl leads him on the path to making a movie.
Tatsuki Fujimoto is a Japanese manga author born on October 10 in the early 90s in Nikaho, Japan. His best-known works are Fire Punch and Chainsaw Man, both serialized through Shueisha’s platforms. Fire Punch was serialized from 2016 to 2018 on the Shonen Jump+ app, while Chainsaw Man started serialization in 2018 in the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. It ended in 2020, and the second part is expected later this year on the Jump+ app.
Chainsaw Man is his only work to date to get an anime adaptation. The anime was announced in December of 2020. The first trailer came out in June of 2021. Studio MAPPA is animating the series, which is set to premiere sometime this year. Watch the PV for the manga below:
