New Seven Deadly Sins: Grudge of Edinburgh Part 1 Movie Announced

The Seven Deadly Sins franchise is getting another anime movie, focused on Tristan. The movie will have two parts, and the first one titled Grudge of Edinburg Part 1 will stream on Netflix in 2022. Alfred Imageworks and Marvy Jack are in charge of the animation, which will be fully CGI. Watch the trailer:

Fans of the franchise probably remember Tristan from the end of the original Seven Deadly Sins series. The new movie will take place after the original series and before the events of the Four Knights of the Apocalypse manga sequel. The story is an original work and appears to be focusing on Tristan who leaves his father’s castle after a mysterious army attacks it. On his journey, he meets fairies and giants who will change his life forever.

Seven Deadly Sins Franchise

The original Seven Deadly Sins series also has an anime adaptation with 4 seasons and 2 movies. The first 2 seasons and Prisoners of the Sky movie were animated by A-1 Pictures. Studio DEEN took over for seasons 3 and 4, and the latest movie Cursed by Light that served as an anime-only sequel. TV anime was a Netflix exclusive worldwide, while the movies had theatrical screenings in Japan. All the seasons and both movies, as well as a special OVA series, are now available on Netflix.

Four Knights of the Apocalypse is the sequel to Nakaba Suzuki’s highly popular Seven Deadly Sins series. The Four Knights manga started serialization in 2021, right after the original series ended. Kodansha is also publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:

In the world of The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, Percival has always lived with his grandfather on the idyllic, remote God’s Finger. And though Percival loves the simple life, he longs for adventure. That is, until adventure comes knocking at his door, tearing away everything he’s ever known and leaving him alone in the world. Now Percival has no choice but to go out into the world and see what it holds…after all, it’s his destiny!
