On October 8th, 2020, the author of Katekyo Hitman Reborn! Amano Akira teased an announcement. It wasn’t clear if it would be related to the popular work, but there were already some pieces of info that it would be a new series. Titled “Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective”, the manga is now officially available on the MANGA Plus website and app. You can read the first chapter legally here. The synopsis on the website reads:
This unusual duo brings the hidden truth into the light! Ron Kamonohashi, a private investigator with serious issues, and Totomaru Ishiki, a pure-hearted but dim police detective, team up to solve the most baffling mysteries! A thrilling detective story for a new generation from Akira Amano, creator of “Reborn!” and “Ēldlive”!
The editor posted the color page on Twitter (which is also the thumbnail of this article). In addition, the tweet said that this was the first time they worked together from start and invited the fans to read the new series:
I read the first chapter and loved it! The artstyle is obviously reminiscent of Katekyo, and the story is interesting to me since I like detective stuff. Will definitely be following it in the future too.
