Jump Festa 2024: All Announcements and Highlights (UPDATED)

Jump Festa ’24 is officially behind us! This year’s event brought us many announcements, fun facts, stories, and some surprises. As you are probably aware, we have been following all panels that took place over the past two days and we have compiled all the useful information here, in one place for your reading and viewing pleasure. Do note that every subheading with a link in the title has a separate article – by clicking on the link you can learn more information.

Blue Box

The upcoming anime adaptation revealed the first trailer, studio information (Telecom Animation Film) and added Akari Kito to the cast. Shoya Chiba and Reina Ueda, and later Kito, attended the panel.

Haikyu!!

Haikyu!! panel was dedicated to the Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump movie, which will be released in Japan on February 16, 2024. The movie unveiled a new trailer:

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

The Demon Slayer panel went without any major announcements. This year the franchise was a part of the Blue Stage lineup. Those who attend the screening of the To the Hashira Training Arc tour will receive a special booklet with information about the Hashiras, including staff drawings, cast comments, and more. Check out the new promotional video for the anniversary event:

Witch Watch

Although many were hoping for a big announcement for the Witch Watch series, nothing happened. Mikako Komatsu attended the event and read a letter from the author, who stated that the series still has a long way to go.

Dandadan

Shion Wakayama and Natsuki Hanae are leading the Dandadan cast. The anime by Science SARU premieres in October 2024.

Red Cat Ramen

The upcoming anime adaptation of the Red Cat Ramen anime revealed a trailer. Kenjiro Tsuda is joining the cast as Buzo. The anime premieres in the summer of 2024. E&H production is animating the series, under Hisatoshi Shimizu’s direction.

Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen cast (Junya Enoki, Yuichi Nakamura, Yuma Uchida, and Junichi Suwabe) did a live reading of an upcoming scene from the manga (not from this season) and also discussed the second season of the anime, mainly the currently ongoing Shibuya Incident arc. Shibuya will host a Jujutsu Kaisen exhibition in the summer of 2024. The cover for the new volume of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga was revealed. Akutami Gege sent in a message saying that we are reaching the climax of the manga and that this is likely to be the last Jump Festa to take place while JJK is being serialized.

MASHLE: Magic and Muscles

MASHLE: Magic And Muscles revealed a new trailer for The Divine Visionary Candidate Exam Arc aka the second season of the anime. The anime returns on January 6. The franchise is also getting another stage play.

Sakamoto Days

Although voice actor Ryota Suzuki attended the Sakamoto Days stage, there were no major announcements regarding the series. The latest volume cover was revealed:

Blue Exorcist

The upcoming third season of Blue Exorcist revealed a new visual and a trailer, just in time for the January 6 premiere date. The franchise also revealed a trailer for the upcoming game, as well as a cover for the new volume.

2.5 Dimensional Seduction

2.5 Dimensional Seduction had a stage at the Jump Festa ’24 where it announced a smartphone game, titled Angel’s Stage. The release date for the game is still unknown. The anime adaptation of the manga didn’t reveal many details, other than that. voice actress Aya Yamane is joining the cast as 753♡ alongside a trailer for the character. Junya Enoki, Kaori Maeda, and Akari Kito were also present.

Undead Unluck

The currently ongoing Undead Unluck anime adaptation revealed a new trailer for the second cour:

The Elusive Samurai

The upcoming anime adaptation of The Elusive Samurai revealed a key visual and a promotional video for it. The anime begins broadcasting in 2024.

The Prince of Tennis

The Prince of Tennis: Futari no Samurai and The Prince of Tennis: Atobe Kara no Okurimono movies are getting a joint Blu-ray release on February 28, 2024. Visual is out:

The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup Semifinal will begin airing in October:

Me and Robocco

Me & Robocco revealed the cover for the manga’s 16th volume., which is slated to release on January 4

Mission: Yozakura Family

Mission: Yozakura Family anime cast attended the stage dedicated to the series. Reiji Kawashima, Kaede Hondo, Katsuyuki Konishi, and Akari Kito introduced the characters and the first trailer for the anime, which is slated for April 2024 premiere.

My Hero Academia

It appears that My Hero Academia had a slight mishap because they shared a trailer for the 7th season of the anime at 6 am JST. The video was set to private shortly after but later revealed during the Jump Festa ’24 stage. The franchise also revealed that the new movie will be premiering in the summer of 2024.

Gintama

Gintama had a very Christmas-y stage where the release date for the upcoming 3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei (Class 3-Z’s Teacher Ginpachi) spin-off anime was revealed as 2025.

Kaiju No. 8

The highly anticipated Kaiju No. 8 anime revealed additional cast information (Ai Fairouz and Kengo Kawanishi), as well as a new trailer at the Jump Festa ’24. The anime will be streaming on Twitter/X and Crunchyroll. Author Naoya Matsumoto sent in a message saying that he always dreamt about having a manga adapted into anime and that was very impressed with the voice acting. Reno’s voice actor says he once played Reno during a casual hangout – he is now honored to play the character. Kaiju No. 8 manga spin-off, titled Side E, will be released on January 5.

BLEACH

BLEACH: Arrancar the Beginning musical was announced. The musical is coming in 2024 and will be the first one for the franchise since 2015. The new trailer for the third part of the BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War arc has been revealed:

Akane-banashi

Akane-banashi stage hosted Keiki Hayashiya, rakugo performer and the manga supervisor, as well as Takamasa Moue and the editor for the manga. No major announcements have been made.

World Trigger

World Trigger’s Jump Festa ’24 stage hosted Yuki Kaji, Junichi Suwabe, Yuko Sanpei, and Tomo Muranaka. The franchise will hold its annual festival at Tokyo Dome City Hall on March 31, 2024.

Rurouni Kenshin

The new Rurouni Kenshin anime is continuing next year, with the adaptation of the Kyoto arc. Announcement trailer is out:

Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc.

Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. revealed the additional cast for the upcoming anime adaptation, which is slated to premiere in the Fall 2024 anime season. Studios MOE and J.C. Staff are animating. Cast additions are:

  • Rikiya Koyama as Kouji Shigemoto
  • Daiki Yamashita as Kazuo Nikoyama
  • Ryota Osaka as Kaede Midorikawa

Bokyaku Battery

Bokyaku Battery revealed a trailer, visual, and April 2024 release date. Studio MAPPA is animating the series with Masato Nakazono as the director.

Dr. Stone

Dr. Stone unveiled a special music video for the NEW WORLD anime:

SPY x FAMILY

Tatsuya Endo, Saori Hayami, and Kenichiro Matsuda attended the SPY x FAMILY stage at the Jump Festa ’24. Not much was revealed in terms of the anime and the movie, but we did get a reminder for the upcoming Nintendo Switch game, the WAKU WAKU theme park, and the special event that has been set for January. Atsumi Tanezaki wasn’t present, but a clip of her visiting Tatsuya Endo and drawing Anya was shown.

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku

Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku revealed a teaser visual for the second season. Ryota Suzuki will be joining the cast.

Oshi no Ko

Rie Takahashi, Takeo Otsuka, Megumi Han, and Manaka Iwami were part of the Oshi no Ko Jump Festa ’24 stage. There were no updates about the season of the anime, but we now know that Piyeon will be opening a YouTube channel. Additionally, the special Oshi no Ko event that took place earlier this year will be available on YouTube. Perhaps the biggest news of the stage was that Rie Takahashi will cover the opening theme song for the Oshi no Ko anime – “Idol” by YOASOBI.

Chainsaw Man

Chainsaw Man anime is continuing with a movie project dedicated to Reze and the Bomb Girl arc. Teaser visual and trailer have been revealed:

Fujimoto sent in a message, saying that he was inspired by Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade movie when he was drawing Denji and Reze’s relationship. The composition in this part of the manga is similar to the one in the movie.

Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective

Yohei Azakami and Junya Enoki represented the cast of the Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective anime at the Jump Festa ’24. The final episode of the season airs next week.

‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess

‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess revealed a new trailer and a January 8 premiere date. Check out the trailer:

Hokkaido Gals Are Adorable

Nobunaga Shimazaki, Ayane Sakura, Reina Ueda, and Yumiri Hanamori attended the Hokkaido Gals Jump Festa ’24 stage. Masayoshi Oishi was the surprise guest (the singer is performing the opening). The anime will premiere on January 8, as confirmed in a new commercial:

Dark Gathering

The finale of the Dark Gathering was a great opportunity to look back on the highlights of the anime. Rina Kawaguchi, Nobunaga Shimazaki, and Yu Shinohara attended the stage.

Moriarty the Patriot – Musical

The final showing of the Moriarty the Patriot musical was this September. The cast gathered to look back on the highlights and so the panel hosted Shogo Suzuki (William James Moriarty), Ryo Hirano (Sherlock Holmes), and Shun Takagi (George Lestrade).

Chained Soldier

The Chained Soldier stage featured Yuuya Hirose, Akari Kito, and Maaya Uchida. Kito and Uchida performed the opening and ending songs respectively. The new trailer is also out:

ONE PIECE

ONE PIECE panel hosted the cast from the anime: Mayumi Tanaka (Luffy), Kazuya Nakai (Zoro), Akemi Okamura (Nami), Kappei Yamaguchi (Usopp), Hiroaki Hirata (Sanji), Ikue Otani (Chopper), Yuriko Yamaguchi (Robin), Kazuki Yao (Franky), Katsuhisa Hoki (Jimbe) and Cho (Brook), who joined via a video call as he’s currently in Sao Paolo, Brazil. Jacob Romero Gibson (live-action Usopp) and Iñaki Godoy (live-action Luffy) joined as surprise guests. Theme songs for the Egghead arc (which begins on January 8) were revealed:

  • Opening: “Aaah!” by Hiroshi Kitadani
  • Ending: “Dear Sunrise” by Maki Otsuki

“Romance Dawn” the first episode of ONE PIECE, is getting a new anime project by WIT Studio and Netflix, with an all-new animation team. It will be titled THE ONE PIECE. Toei Animation and Fuji Television are also part of the project, alongside Shuiesha. Netflix describes it as a recreation of the ONE PIECE anime from the East Blue arc. Check out the teaser:
