ONE PIECE is officially getting a remake anime project by WIT Studio and Netflix, starting with at East Blue with a teaser of ‘Romance Dawn.’ That’s the title of the first manga chapter, as well as the first episode of the live-action series. The announcement came at the end of Jump Festa 2024, where they also revealed new information for the ongoing anime. You can watch the announcement video below:

Recreating the story of the original “ONE PIECE” manga, starting from the East Blue arc, “THE ONE PIECE” is coming to Netflix!
Prior to the announcement, they revealed that the anime by Toei Animation will get new opening and ending songs ahead of the Egghead Island arc. It will begin on January 7, and Vegapunk and his satelites’ voice actors were also announced.
The ONE PIECE manga by Eiichiro Oda first began in July 1997, and the series exceeded 500 million circulating copies in August 2022. It also celebrated the 25th anniversary last year, while the anime adaptation started in October 1999 and is also still going strong. The previous estimate for the manga ending was 4-5 years back in 2020. The manga currently has 1101 chapters, while the anime by Toei Animation is at 1088 episodes. VIZ Media licensed the manga in English, and Crunchyroll streams the anime. They describe the story:
