The upcoming Blue Exorcist: Shimane Illuminati Saga (Season 3) revealed a new trailer and key visual, ahead of the January 6 premiere date. The information was revealed during a Jump Festa ’24 stage dedicated to the series. Cast members Nobuhiko Okamoto, Eri Kitamura, Jun Fukuyama, and Kana Hanazawa attended.
Additional cast includes Koki Uchiyama as Lucifer, Tomokazu Seki as Lewin Light, Nobuyuki Hiyama as Michael Gedoin, and Rina Sato as Shura Kirigakure.
The previously announced Blue Exorcist game revealed a trailer and the title – AlternaWelt: Blue Exorcist. The game will be released in the summer of 2024.
Studio VOLN is animating the sequel, directed by Daisuke Yoshida. Toshiya Oono is in charge of the series composition, while Yurie Ohigashi is credited as the character designer and the chief animation director. Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano are composing the music. UVERworld is returning with the opening song “Eye Sentry,” while the ending is Mulsasaki Ima’s “Gakkyu Nisshi.”
Blue Exorcist anime is based on a manga by Kazue Katou. It started serialization in Jump Square magazine in 2009. The first season of the anime came out in the Spring of 2011, but it featured an anime original final arc (episodes 16-25). In 2012 a Blue Exorcist Movie movie also came out. Season 2 titled Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga aired in the Winter of 2017 season. It ignored the anime-only arc from the prequel and continued to adapt the manga’s storyline. Side-story titled Blue Exorcist: Kuro’s Trip Away From Home also exists, along with a 2-episode OVA from season 2. A-1 Pictures animated the whole adaptation. The main cast included:

- Eri Kitamura as Izumo Kamiki
